Fitbit app and apple watch

I currently have a Fitbit and want to upgrade to an Apple Watch. 

Is there any way I can still record steps to the fitbit app by using the Apple Watch to count steps rather than wearing both devices??

I want to continue using Fitbit app as do online challenges with friends.
