not able to open an app on new ios 11

since Apple released the latest iOS update it has made certain apps not operatable, the app that I use only contains stored information it Does not need internet in order to function. My question is how am I able to open the app and start using it again since it has stored information that is useful. When trying to open the app it reads app needs to be updated contact app developer to update. 

The app will never launch under iOS 11. As it says, contact the developer to see if there are plans to update it.

 

If you have another device that’s still on iOS 10, or the app has Mac/PC equivalent, open the app there and see if you can somehow save your data (copy/paste?)
