Really hot charger pin local customer care failed.

I've been having charger problems since I bought the device. I have been to the local customer care many a times. Three of those times they acknowledged the problem and took the device in for testing.

1. They returned it as is saying the issue could not be reproduced.

2. They replaced my charger (relatively new 30 cycles) with a used one of their own (looked worn)

3. They told me that they'd replace a little circuit right by the charger port. When I went in to get it back they told me that something went wrong and they had to replace: "The Maxive board, MLB & the Display". The display I can tell you was working fine.

 

I have tried to contact Apple directly was unsuccessful by email and phone.

 

Issue

The charger when connected gets super hot. I have to be very careful not to burn myself and not to use it around children. Take a look at the following videos:

Recently the charger doesn't start charging a 100% of the time (random things happens it starts whenever it decides, the display brightens up but doesn't charge when connected at times and the lite of the charger sometimes dims down and turns off while connected)

The display flashes a random line at times when the computer is turned on.

 

This was the most expensive MacBook at the time, bought it directly from Apple and bought the extended Protection Plan. Yet I've had this terrible experience. I need Apple to contact me directly ASAP. I can't keep taking time off from work to handle this issue anymore.



Have you checked your mains outlet by trying to charge from one or more different points.   Do you have a neighbour who would allow you to charge from their mains outlet.

 

It always helps to identify the country you are resident in because the Apple support varies according to whether you have genuine Apple stores or Authorised resellers.   India , for example, can be a source of problems with support.

 

We, here, are volunteers, users like yourself.   We are unable to take matters up on your behalf.  Your only recourse outside of local customer care is any national HQ. or the official Apple support channel here ...

Thanks for the reply Seventy One. Yes, the issue presists regardless of locations, even with true sine inverters. I't definitely not about power quality. I'm in Pakistan I used stores and service centres located on the apple website through out.

I'm hoping to get in touch with anyone from the Apple Team through here. As I've been unable to reach Apple through phone.

Never mind, It doesn't matter now.   Out of interest. you cannot edit a post after 15 minutes has passed.   Nothing would surprise me in both Pakistan or India. 



Yeah :) we pay 40% more here for hardware for shorter periods of warranty and lousy support
