Is there a better way to move your iPhone Conta...

I switched to Apple years ago for personal use.  Fortunately, while the companies I have worked for are Windows/Exchange shops, they've allowed BYOD which means that I have adopted Mac Outlook 2011 for email.  While I am connected to exchange server, contacts in my company accounts sync very well, but personal contacts from my iPhone don't do quite as well.  Ever since Apple stopped stopped supporting Sync Services, I have looked (to no avail) for an app to allow a sync between my iPhone and Mac Outlook 2011 (I have avoided pay apps).

Due to a change of employers, this issue has became a priority for me recently.  I began my search again, and again to no avail.  I did however, discover a manual process that was fairly simple and relatively quick (between my iPhone and Mac Outlook 2011, I have 1,000+ contacts).  Here is the process:

1) Ensure your iPhone and Mac Mail contacts are sync'd (Mac Mail has to be set up and sync'd to your iPhone).

2) Create a folder on your Mac desktop (I named it Temp Contacts).

3) Open Outlook and click the contacts tab, then Select All and drag to Temp Contacts.

4) Open Mac Contacts and Temp Contacts.  "Select All" in Temp Contacts and drag them to the Mac Contacts.  Mac Contacts will pop up with "Are you sure you want to import 'xxx' cards?"  This prompt will include a "Review Duplicates..." button.  Click Review Duplicates (this is the time-consuming part, and you will need to decide which contact cards are more current).

5) Once you have imported your Outlook Mac 2011 contacts into Mac Contacts, you now have consolidated your iPhone and Mac Outlook.  Open Outlook Mac 2011 contacts, "Select All", and "Delete".

6) Open Mac Contacts, "Select All", and drag to your desktop (this will create a single file on your desktop).

7) Open Mac Outlook 2011 contacts, ensure all contacts have been deleted, then drag the Mac Mail file to your Mac Outlook 2011 contacts folder.

8) Delete the Mac Mail file and the Temp Contacts folder from your desktop.

Your contact lists on your iPhone and Outlook Mac 2011 are now in-sync.  I realize keeping them in-sync going forward will be a manual process.  To my original question, is there a better way to do this?  If not, hope this helps someone else.
