How long does it take for an Ipad Pro, 128gb to...

Well, I just bought an iPad Pro on EBay.  Received it the other day.  Today when I turned it on it was in the Red.  I couldn't get pass the Red.  I was sent a cable but not the charger part.  So used one of my generic ones.  Anyway, I was noticing I could not get it pass the Red to set it up.  And well, kept it plug hoping it would work.  Well, it took hours, which with other tablets even if they are dead, I can mostly get it to turn on and use as long as I have it plugged.  Being plugged did not help.  So, I emailed the Seller on EBay to inform that there was only a cable and the iPad Air Pro was in the Red.  So, I left it plugged and went to sleep, and when I woke up hours later it was only at 70%.  Now it is at 95%.  So, was wondering how long should it take to charge from being in the Red?  Was really surprised it took this long as my iPhone 6 hardly takes any time at all.  And my previous iPads, well,l never took this long, but then never had them in the Red either.  Just wondering if I have a good battery or if there is something I need to know to know that what I purchased is a good iPad Air Pro?  My iPad Air Pro is cellular as well with 128gb. Model: MLYL2LLA.  I updated to OS 11.0.3.  Ok, is this enough information?  Is there anything to look out for or be aware of?  My tech knowledge is very limited as iPhones, etc. came in long after I had all 5 of my children lol.  I remember when my eldest son who was 4 years old then was doing DOS to play games on the computer which I did not know how to do.  How things have changed. Well, looking to upgrade my knowledge which due to concern.

This is definitely not a good idea.  You should use only Apple approved charger and cable.
