IPad version question

How can I tell which version of IPad I have?

To find out what version of iPad you have you can simply use the included charging cable, wether it be 30 pin, or lightning cable. Plug one end into your iPad and the other into your computer and open iTunes, then click on the iPad symbol in the top left corner next to the music tab, it should give you a window with a list of different things like Summery, Music et, on the summery tab it should give you all the details you need to know about your iPad, how many gigabytes it has and its serial number and operating system. I hope that answers your question.   

Thanks for the response. I guess the question I should have asked is how do I find out which generation of IPad I have.  I know it's an older version since the highest OS version I can get is 9.3.5.
