DualShock 4 Controller BT Connectivity Issues

Hi all,

I wanted to try using a DS4 controller on my 2016 MBP for gaming on Steam. Plugging it in works fantastically, but connecting it via Bluetooth doesn't work. Both Bluetooth preference pane and Steam would recognize the controller, but the computer wouldn't respond to the controller both in Big Picture and in game. This is getting frustrating because I would need to grab by adapter just for gaming. If there is any solution, that would be very helpful! I am running 10.13 High Sierra. Thanks!
