Any problem charging your iPad?

I am running iOS 11.0.2 on an iPad Air 2. On two occasions in the last week, I've plugged my pad in for recharging before going to bed, heard the "charging beep" (or whatever it is properly called). BUT in the morning, the %charged is unchanged. I try again to charge it in the morning and it works.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? I'd like to assume that the upgrade to iOS 11 is coincidental to this problem, but don't have evidence to rule it out yet.

If the problem is hardware, then how can I best distinguish between a problem with the charger and a problem with the charging circuitry in the iPad?

Thoughts?
