Macbook Pro late 2016 won't sync contacts

Hi,

All the contacts I have added to my iPhone 6s Plus in the last 6 weeks aren't syncing with my MacBook Pro (late 2016 with touch bar.) I have done all I can think of to make it work, but I must be missing something. Can anyone offer up ideas specific to the most current updates? Everything I search for has advice that is 3-4 years old. Thank you!
