How long should the fuzzy circle run when reset...

I’m attempting to reset my Apple Watch. I’ve been following instructions and am to the point where it wants to set the watch into a squarish place. I’ve done that (using the back of the watch) and the fuzzy circle has been spinning and spinning. Should I keep the watch over the squarish place or next to the iPhone ?

Hold your iPhone so that the fuzzy circle is within the frame on your iPhone's screen, as shown here in step 3:

 

 

And then follow the further instructions as prompted.

 

That specific step within the process should only take a moment.
