Three beeps and then a regular boot

Hello Apple Community

 

As of recently I have experience my MacBook Pro 2012, 13" has started behaving a bit strange. Under regular use it suddenly froze and starting beeping three consecutive times, the after 5 minutes or so I could boot regularly again. After this it happened more frequently and after a week I took out both RAM blocks and reinserted them again. This worked for a month, but now my Mac is beginning this once again. Clearly it has something to do with the RAM, however since it sometimes boot then they aren't completely defect, or what. Does anyone have a solution to this issue of mine?

You may have a memory module that does not function correctly or is failing. Why not try replacing it if the memory is replaceable. Otherwise, you will need to make an appointment at the Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar and take it in for service. If you are not in the USA or cannot set up an appointment this way, then contact your local Apple Store directly.

My Mac is a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro 13" meaning that both RAM modules is replaceable. I will try to replace my Ram modules, thanks for the assistance!

This is happening with me too.

I've already changed the memory, but it didn't work out.

In the Apple Store they tould me there was nothing wrong with my computer. I searched here and a lot of people are having the same issue. All of them with the same model: Macbook Pro 13" Mid 2012.

I don't know what to do anymore.

Hmm that sounds rather odd, hos often does your mac crash, and can you boot after some minutes?

It's happening more frequently now and every day. Sometimes it's stays on just for few minutes and I must keep restarting it, but other times it works well.

You could try to be less rude.

It would be really nice if, once a memory error was detected, the memory module involved would simply fall over dead and never work again. Then they would be really easy to detect.

 

But alas, that is not how it works. Memory problems often come and go, and can often elude our best attempt to "catch them in the act". We often have to run memory tests for days, and still may not catch the problems.

You must use extreme caution when interpreting the results of any diagnostic test, or any report from the Apple Store after a test. The messages seen will say, "No fault found".

 

"No fault found" is very different from "there is no fault", and a world apart from "all is well".

have you figured out what is happening? I know this thread is a year old but I have the same model and this problem is occurring for me also.
