Activation error to deactivate passcode

Hello, i try to remove the passcode on my ipad mini, so in the process i was asked to provide my apple id and password. Unfortunately my apple id was deactivated since i am not using it for a long time. When i click on the continue button this message appears on my ipad ‘ activation error’ activation request could not be completed. Please press the home button to try again. If the problem persist again. If the problem persists, please contact customer care. When i press the home button is shows ‘ ipad not set up’ so i got stuck and dont know what to do now. I already send an email to activate again my apple id.
