Can a MacBook Air run games found on the App St...
I was just wondering if I would be able to run games found on the App Store like Sims 2 without my MacBook overheating.
Yes you can, my 2012 MacBook Air with core i5 and 4gb of ram on Sierra 10.12 runs most games at low settings perfectly. I have played diablo, hearthstone, and some others. It is not a gaming notebook by any means but it will run them in a pinch. As far as overheating, the notebook does get very hot but intel's thermal throttling and automatic shut down will protect the cpu from overheating issues. I haven't had the notebook shut down on me but did get thermal throttles while exporting video files.
For the specs of the MacBook Air I was very surprised at how well it handled a normal workload. I purchased a used MacBook Air because I didn't want to needlessly take my MacBook Pro retina out and about. But it turns out that the MacBook Air handles almost everything I throw at it.
