Home screen Apps disappear iPad Pro

whenever I use the five finger gesture to close a app , all The home screen app icons are gone only the bottom dock bar is there . I have to open a app and close it with the home button to get them back. Some times only the wallpaper shows up and nothing else . Is this a iOS 11 glitch is there anyway to fix it ?

I have the exact same problem. Worked fine on the Beta, but for the last two updates I got this issue. Annoying as ****.
