Firmware update for Samsung EVO Pro 850

Hi, I’m trying to update the firmware on my Samsung SSD, and their technical support told me I need to use UNebootin and boot the firmware from a boot disk, however, that program does not recognise the USB (high Sierra) boit drive I made and they‘ve now told me they can’t go any further with it as it is a software problem for Apple to solve. Can anyone help? Is there another way out of this? I can’t run Logic without the update and nothing’s Much faster than the old HDD like this.

any help would be greatly appreciated

See Greenleader's reply near the top of page 6 of the following:

How to update firmware for SSD

UNebootin is used to create a bootable Linux or other OS so that then you can update firmware.

Easiest way is to move the SD to a PC and update via PC using Samsung's program.

Thanks for your reply! I found a program called Etcher that seemed to do the job... it was pretty drag and drop-tastic and formatted my USB boot drive for Mac and ran the .iso on startup, claiming that the firmware had been installed. It looks OK to me and seems faster, and the problems I was experiencing with Logic seem to have stopped (this was the reason I desperately needed to sort it). Does that sound about right?

Sounds right. Samsung had to issue firmware update to fix problems.
