iTunes song no vocals anymore

Sometimes I listen to a song on iTunes with two artists and one of the artists’ voice is gone. It used to be in the song but it has been edited to be removed. Also, sometimes a song will lose all the vocals and will only have the instrumental playing in the background. Why is this? I think it has somrthing to do with contacts and not a technical issue.
