Mac Mini Server Dying?

Looking for some general help here... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have a mac mini server that seems to be dying. This little server has been chugging away for many years now serving files and running as an OD master -- all syncing over the internet with another mac mini server running the same duties at a different office as an OD slave.

So the OD master is becoming unresponsive: I have run full Apple diagnostics, repaired the startup disk, upgraded the system software, and tried combing through the system logs... nothing.

It all seems to run fine when I have the server disconnected from the network and RAID array, but when I reconnected it to the thunderbolt RAID units and ethernet network it quickly becomes unresponsive after about 20 minutes of uptime. And at this point I am unable to mount network drives, connect via screen sharing, or terminal command line.

Thinking it was the old RAID array that was failing, I bought a new RAID unit and transferred all data, but the issue persists. Is there anything that comes to mind to you? I really have been avoiding reformatting the server with a clean install. This is the OD master and I could rebuild open directory and reconfigure the server, but was avoiding that headache...

Is there any system log entry that I should be looking for? What is my next step here? Reformat the Mac? Buy a new Mac Mini?

Thanks for your suggestions... Max
