how to unlock ipad

I purchased a new ipad mini 2 years ago, and let my girlfriends son use it. It was brand new, out of the box when he set up the ipad with his own Apple ID, and lockpad.

Problem is, we are trying to fix it, and had to RESET it, and now we can't get past the screen where it asks for APPLE ID and PASSWORD in setting up the ipad. The Find My Iphone was on, I guess.

For Apple ID, it has c*****@hotmail.com.  However, none of us recognize this email address for Apple ID, and all we can think, is that one of his hockey team buddies was over and used it and put in his Apple ID. This happened about 8 months ago. So, we have no idea how to get past this screen.

So what do I do? Yes, I purchased this product. Someone messed with the APPLE ID settings, and we restored it.

Any ideas?

Find the purchase receipt showing the iPad serial number and

take the receipt and the iPad to the nearest Apple store where

they may assist you.
