MacOS High Sierra Supplemental Updates error

I have a mbp and already running MacOS High Sierra. I install it from App Store.

But yesterday I saw new update from app store called "MacOS High Sierra Supplemental Updates" and I download it. But when it ask to restart my mbp, I pending it, shut down my mbp because i want to update it later but then when I turn it on it show error "OSInstall.mpkg appears to be missing" please help me to fix the error

The standard way your Mac performs a software update (that requires a restart) is to change the boot software to be the incoming upgrade package, such as the one you mentioned above.  After the Restart, you boot from the upgrade package, and that minimal incoming software is used to run the Installer for the rest of the update.

Try using

system Preferences > startup disk ...

... to deliberately specify the boot drive again (do NOT take the default) by deliberately clicking on the drive Icon. This should then use the standard Mac OS startup software instead of the Update software on the next Restart.

Thanks for quick reply, it works as i can enter the os. Your reply really help me :)

But everytime i run the update the problem reappear. I try to download supplemental update from browser not from app store and it give the same result. Any idea to make the update works?

Thanks in advance!

The update has historically been expected in the /Applications folder. If it is only in the ~/Downloads folder, it may be hard to find.

Try downloading from the Mac App Store again.
