Selection Based Processing in Logic Pro X not w...

In Logic Pro X version 10.3.2, when I select a region or a part of a region that has multiple takes in the tracks area using marquee, then choose "Selection Based Processing" from the function menu, the window says "Nothing selected" and I'm unable to do any processing. I've tried selecting in all kinds of ways: using marquee, just clicking on a region, cutting a section and then selecting that in tracks, etc. Does anyone know why I'm seeing this problem?
