I used Migration Manager to copy my files onto ...

The problem with the two profiles is that I want to use the new set up with all the new apps and everything set up the new way and the other profile is an exact copy of my old computer. I would like to use the new profile but be able to get to the old files that I copied over. But the new profile says I don't have permission to use some of those files and most don't even show up under documents etc. I have been looking around trying to see if there is a way to combine the two or turn off the admin rights to the old profile but haven't seen anything. Is there a way to move the files from one profile to the other without having to delete everything and just start over - manually copying each file to the new profile?

This happens when Migration Assistant finds an admin account with a different name on the target Mac. You have 2 choices:

1. Erase the volume, re-install Mac OS and use the same name.

2. Move the contents of the old Home folders (Not the folders themselves, i.e. Documents, Pictures, Music etc) into the your Shared folder then into the corresponding folders in the new Admin.

FWIW I would rather start over clean.
