Macbook Pro says HDD is damaged but cable looks...

Macbook Pro 13 in", mid 2012

I recently changed the original HDD to a Seagate Barracuda 1 TB, I also changed the flex cable for a new one on the internet which im fairly certain its not an original. Everything seemed to work but then I decided to install Bootcamp, it worked, then it didn't. I couldn't enter neither the Windows partition nor the MacOS. I entered into Internet Recovery to see what was wrong and saw that both partitions where unmounted, I then deleted the Bootcamp one scared it might damage my HDD. I then took the HDD out and placed it next to another mac to erase the data to get rid of everything. After that I placed it back into my computer, entered Internet Recovery and into Disk Utility again and when verifying the disk it said "The partition map needs to be repaired because there's a problem with the EFI system partition's file system.". I then clicked on the fix, and it supposedly got fixed, It all seemed fine but while trying to reinstall MacOS, it said it could not for some reason, the disk still sayed it appeared to be OK. Took the disk out and plugged it into another mac to see what was up, Disk Utility said it had a problem so I erased the data once again and it then said it was OK again. I decided to install the HDD into another mac and took the HDD of the other mac into mine to see if it was the cable at fault. My disk was in the other mac and it all worked perfectly while installing MacOS so I suspected the cable was at fault. I then checked the HDD of the other mac that was currently installed on my computer, the computer recognized it but never charged the HDD, it was always black. 

My question is, who's at fault, the HDD or the Cable. both seem weird, why would the HDD say it had problems when connecting it into another computer if it was the cable at fault. IK THIS IS REALLY LONG BUT PLEASE PLEASE I NEED HELP, THANKSSSS.
