Macbook Pro solid color intermittent screen and...

Hi,

I have a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7 Macbook Pro with 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 running running Sierra 10.12.6.  I bought this new almost exactly 1 year ago and about 6 months in I had to have the Logic board replaced for similar issues that I'm having now.  Basically, as I'm using the machine for various tasks, the screen will turn a solid color and lock up.  Usually the color is the most dominant color I was looking at prior to the freeze.  I have to restart, and usually it takes several tries because the screen has various forms of fuzz, colors and lines on start-up.  This is all usually accompanied by my fan running hot.  I've tried SMC and NVRAM resets which seem to help for a time but the problem comes back with a vengeance.  I should also say this is the 3rd machine I've had with these issues.  My warranty just ran out and the repairs I just had are only guaranteed for 3 months, so I'm looking at out of pocket for this repair which I'm hoping is not another logic board replacement.

My main concern is that I may be doing something to cause these issues since it keeps happening on various machines.  This one is practically brand new.  Could there be a virus or some errant code I keep copying over?  How would I know?  I use this machine for web work, music production, sometimes gaming but nothing I would think that's out of bounds for the processor.  Any guide on this issue would be much appreciated.  I fear another $1000 repair is on the horizon.

Thanks
