iCloud Drive has duplicates not on my Mac?

Looking at my iCloud Drive I discover there are duplicates of files and directories there. For a short while I had two computers linked to the iCloud Drive, but now I'm back to one (rMBPro 13" 2015). If I compare my Mac with my iCloud drive I find that the MAC does not have the duplicate files and folders, so I assume the duplicates came from the period when I had 2 computers feeding the same folders to iCloud Drive.

Question: How do I now (automatically, in bulk) delete all the duplicates off iCloud Drive and have it match my MBPro exactly?

I have the feeling that it's probably disconnect iCloud, erase iCloud, reconnect iCloud or similar, but I don't want to take chances.

Are you able to delete them at iCloud.com

yes. guess it was some other DOCUMENTS and DOWNLOADS folders.   My problem now is that my DOC and DOWNLOAD folders are linked to DropBox. How can I ALSO have them duplicated on iCloud Drive?  Or is that not possible.

I suspect you may need to look at some software which will keep files and folders in sync in two locations. I'm afraid I don't know of any, it's not something I do.

I left SugarSync to move to iCloud and iCloud Drive, and I deeply regret it now.  SugarSync kept all of my files and folders in perfect sync with an iMac, Macbook Pro and a Windows 8 computer.  It also gave a checkmark next to folders and files when they were successfully synced to SugarSync.  Something iCloud is missing - so I never know if all my files are truly uploaded to the cloud because I constantly have a message at the bottom of finder in iCloud saying that its still uploading files.  It has been doing that for over a year now (I've tried everything).  I moved all my files to iCloud drive because it was supposed to keep my photos from my iphone in sync as well.  That isn't in sync either.  I'm missing photos on my phone, missing photos on my mac...  and on icloud.  It's a mess!  Well, I am currently on these forums trying to figure out the multiple answers to my questions above that I won't bore you with anymore but I REGRET leaving SugarSync now.  www.SugarSync.com sounds exactly like what you are wanting and what I thought iCloud was going to deliver...  SugarSync prices are fair as well.  I liked their interface better than dropbox. Oh and sugarsync will tell you if you have duplicates and which device they are being synced from.  Loved that feature as well.

I suggest you start your own post with your own problems, you seem a little confused about iCloud Drive, for example it has nothing to do with your photos and also...

It also gave a checkmark next to folders and files when they were successfully synced to SugarSync.  Something iCloud is missing

iCloud Drive simply does the opposite, if you see nothing next to the file it's synced, if you see a progress bar it's in the middle of syncing. FWIW, sugar sync is overcomplicated, I tried it, I use both dropbox and iCloud Drive they are just simple to use.

***** I have 200GB at iCloud and i have no way of knowing how much of my stuff is actually stored there. The operations have no check if present proper failsafe. Also there needs to be a way to see which items are physically present where and which are only referenced to in a list. Space is always at a premium.

I suggest you start your own thread, your problem (or at least your perceived problem) has nothing to do with matters being discussed here.
