Shared iCloud photo library

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to consider my issue.

My wife and I like to share a single Photo library. We'd like this to be as frictionless as possible. In pursuit of this aim, we've adopted the approach of sharing a single Apple ID for iCloud, then using separate individual IDs (under Accounts & Passwords) for personal Mail, Contacts, Calendars etc.

So far, so good. It's worked well for us since the introduction of iCloud, and we've accepted the limitations it forces upon us - because above all else we want to share a single Photo library.

I recently upgraded from iPhone 5 to iPhone 8. Very happy, except: my Health app. is now collecting data such as steps walked, flights of stairs climbed etc. (which I'm not interested in) and overwriting the equivalent data on my wife's phone - and she is interested in it!

We've toggled off Health under iCloud, and deleted our phones as data Sources in the Health app. But it still happens! I understand the Health app. can't be removed from the phone, and there's no way to stop this data being collected. But is there any way to prevent it being synched across devices?

PB

ps. I'm aware we could have a shared Photos album, and perhaps our use case isn't typical - but it's the way we like it, and worked fine till now!
