Apple Music Error 'Unable to download songs'

Hey,

 

Really hoping somebody can help me as I've scoured the internet all over looking for the resolution to this issue! 

 

After updating the new software, I was really excited to use Apple Music and began downloading however, when opting to 'make offline', app is constantly saying downloading songs and then says 'Unable to download songs' and give me two options 'Retry' or 'Done'.  This is happening on my iPhone, iPad and on my Mac is simply just says failed.  I have got iCloud sharing on for all devices so I'm really at a loss with this! 

 

Out of the initial 80 tracks I downloaded, about 20 have downloaded fine and are available offline but the other 60 are not available offline for some reason...

 

Going on holiday on Monday and really wanted to be able to use this feature... any advice welcome :-)



Same issue here, on the phone with Apple Support now i'll let you know if anything comes out of it



I am having the same issue. I was able to download a lot of music for offline play but as of Thursday, I was unable to do so. I tried completely redoing Apple Music, but now I juSt lost all that I did download and can't get them back either. Help would be greatly appreciated!!



Yep, I'm having the same problem too and can't see any way to fix it online. Very very frustrating!!



HI Nick. Were Apple Support able to fix the problem.  I'm having the same issue trying to download music to play offline, which only seemed to start occurring yesterday. Tried all the usual logging out and back in, and rebooting, but no joy. Looks like a growing number of people reporting similar issues but no acknowledgement from Apple to confirm the problem.

i Can download anything in my iTunes Match, but anything from apple music fails



Same problem.

 

Unable to download anything on iPhone or iPad both running iOS 8.4. Also unable to even play anything on iTunes version 12.2.1, all tracks just instantly skip.

 

Things that DON'T seem to work:

  1. Logging out of Apple music
  2. Restarting devices
  3. Deleting/recreating playlists.
  4. Turning wifi on/off

 

Some acknowledgement of the problem from Apple would be appreciated. I'd be interested to know what support had to say, if anything.



Same problem here. Have tried logging out, turning off Apple music, restarting phone etc but nothing works. Currently have around 70 tracks stuck in a downloads queue that I can't get rid off. Nothing streams either. Only songs working are ones Ive purchased or have used iTunes Match



Plus it won't stop TRYING to download them even though it can't. And it's killing my battery



I'm having the same problem, it was fine at first on my ipad, but when I upgraded my phone and downloaded the app, it deleted all the songs I got from the app and now it won't let me make songs available offline, it's really frustrating as the reason I decided to get apple music was that it would make songs available offline at a cheaper price than spotify.  I'm going on holiday soon and was really hoping that I could just take my phone with me for music.



Okay, follow up from earlier....I just spent an hour on the phone with support to no avail.

 

He did mention a few issues of people not being able to download songs on devices. He said he had been able to sort it previously by having people sign in and out of their iTunes account (under 'iTunes and App Store' in settings) and then sign in again. But this didn't work for me. Also try double-checking your payment details on your account, although this should be find if you can download apps etc.

 

I'm also unable to stream music in iTunes, which he said he hadn't seen before. After a screen sharing session the issue has been escalated to engineers, so it seems the problem is definitely apples side. I'm expecting to hear back this week...

 

No resolution, but I hope this at least stops people going crazy.



I am also having the same issue of not being able to download. I've have tried all that has been mentioned above and still nothing.

 

I hope they fix this ASAP as there are loads of tunes I want to listen to on the way to work.

 

Also I do feel that this isn't a free 3 month trial, and more like a 3 month beta test....

having the same problem too just lost all my downloads and its now stuck in a perpetual loop trying to download them.



I Have this exact same problem. From yesterday, having a lot of trouble with Apple iCloud library. All the added and downloaded music from Apple music seems to be here one minute and then gone the next. I can't download any music to play offline (weirdly seems to work on 4G, just not wifi) Downloads just try and fail to download repeatedly. I also can't stream any music over itunes on my Mac. I've never had any problems since launch with Apple music so im

hoping its an Apple issue. I've tried restarting iPhone, logging in and out of iCloud/ iTunes account. Turning 'Apple could library' off and on and no luck, :/



Just thought I'd add that I'm experiencing the same problems as you lot -

 

iMac running OS X 10.10.4/iTunes 12.2.1.16 - won't download or stream anything except radio and one album which isn't available from Apple that I uploaded to iCloud Music Library myself.

 

iPhone and iPad running iOS 8.4 - both will stream music but won't download anything over WiFi, BUT - as Richard312 pointed out above, it WILL download over 4G! Very odd.
