Old Drobos and new Macbook Pro

What is the experience of the community with Drobo on the new MacBook Pros with USB-C? I have a Gen 2 and a Gen 3 Drobo. What adapters work and how well? Any Problems?

Trying to decide on upgrade to Macbook pro.

I am also using a Thunderbolt Display 27.
