Apple Maps

I have long ago reported a problem interactively regarding a map location which was stored as my 'Home' and never got a reply.

Basically I would like to delete or remove the current 'Home' location as it has stored it twice, once on my Mac in a wrong position and also on my iPhone in yet another wrong location.

I cannot find how to delete/remove these locations as it does not give me an opportunity to edit these locations.  However it has stored the correct address at both these locations, but I think it gets it from my contacts - so I have also subsequently deleted myself from my contacts but I still have this problem.

On my iPhone I have deleted and reinstalled maps but it does not actually download it agin it just opens it with all the old information still present - so now I am totally frustrated and don't really know how to fix this - it has been bugging me for almost 2 years now

You should be able to remove your Home location from the Maps Favorites.  To do this open Maps on your Mac and go to the search field up top.  Place your cursor in the field and it will show a drop down with recent suggestions.  At the top of the list will be a Favorites selection.  Click it and it will show your Favorites, including your Home location.  Once there you can click edit and remove your Home location by clicking the X along side it.

This does not work with macOS 10.12.5 and Maps Version 2.0 (1983.24.9.30.35)

There is no edit option.  Clicking the X only removes it temporarily. I cannot label the real location of Home ash home.

The problem of not being able to Edit locations still exists 10/20/17.  I wonder where a person should go from here.  Google maps?
