How can I upgrade my mac?

Hello I purchased an iMac11,3 off craigslist the owner told me it works I tried it in his house (it did)
Owner failed to wipe the computer has all his login w.e and did not upgrade it .
I would like to upgrade it but i cant since i do not have his login credentials.

And he lost the recovery CD.

How can I wipe this

You will need to order a replacement CD from Apple so that you can erase the disk and install the operating system under your AppleID.
