iTunes 11 crossfade not working

i noticed today that crossfade is not working on itunes 11. i turned it off and on, relaunching the app and it still won't work. what could cause this? thanks in advance for your help.

Try some of the' More like this fixes to right>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

the feature is not functional. i checked out the other topics but it's still not working. it's frustrating

It works on mine. iTunes preferences>Playback click crossfade, set time, and checked songs crossfade fine for me. Maybe your download was somehow corrupted?

i dont think so man. i reinstalled itunes 30 mins ago and the **** crossfader still doesn't work.

Mine is fine, maybe call Apple, they might have an answer?  Sorry I could not help.  Best of luck on this, if you find an answer post it.  All the best

I had the same issue...here's what I did to fix it. Move the crossfade slider to about 10 seconds. When it was on 12 seconds it would not work at all. Moved it to a little less than 12 and it kicked in. Hope this helps.

Update:

My assessment was not quite accurate. It seems that the crossfade does work when all of the songs are checked that you want to crossfade BEFORE playback. Any attempt to change the checks is ignored by iTunes. This is annoying. Apple should fix this issue. I'm not liking the new iTunes ui either. It took way too long to figure it out and when I did, I wanted the old version back. Too bad...once you upgrade to version 11, it changes your library file and the older version won't recognize it. Does Apple not beta test their software?

Hey Tommy,

Can you explain your update a little more clearly.  I don't even see check boxes in the newest iTunes, and the disfuncitonal crossfade issue is killin me right now.  thanks!

The crossfade is still not working properly at all. It is a pain to say the least.

To see the checkboxes you must click the tab "Songs" at the top of the interface.

hey thanks!

I found on another thread that if you select / highlight the songs you want to crossfade, like in a playlist, then go change the preferences it will work for those songs.

What a lame bug, I hope they fix it!

i have the problem i think its when you costimise a song to end at a certain time mucks it up as ive tryed everything to fix it

That did it for me!! I can live with the extra second until apple can get someone to fix this. Thanks!!!!

this is why is not worth upgrading some programs (like apple)

Hey guys, I had the same problem. I checked all three options:

1/ Crossfade kept it at 10 as 12 wouldnt work)
2/ Sound enhancer

3/ Sound check

Then I relaunched itunes and it now works. Hopefully it keeps working, and haopefully this helps you guys out also !
