apple pay credit returns transaction

I was overcharged last Saturday, October 7th at a "Sprouts" store at the checkout.  I caught the error after my transaction went thru and altered the cashier.   She put thru a credit for me and I again used Apple Pay.  The credit never showed up in my Apple Pay transactions nor on my Visa card.  How long does this take to show up?  Why does it not show up on my Apple Pay transactions when the original charge is put out there almost immediately?

Just as when using the physical card, refunds made to a payment card account via Apple Pay can take some time to be processed and reflected on your statement.

I suggest that you contact your card issuer for more information and assistance.
