iPad 2 is asking for OLD I.D. and password!

Hello!  My iPad 2 is asking me to put in an OLD I.D. and password that I no longer use.  Seems when I updated my I.D. and password in iTunes some time ago, the iPad did not get updated for some reason.  Don't really know why this happened, as my other devices work fine with the new I.D. and password.  Now when I input my OLD I.D. into iTunes, I get a message saying there is no account associated with that I.D.   How can I get back into my iPad and manually change the OLD information to the NEW without losing everything?
