Screen Resolution

Does the Macbook Pro, running on MacOS Sierra version 10.12.16 offer a resolution of 1920 X 1080?

I just bought a new Samsung monitor and that is the ideal resolution but I do not see it when I go to system preferences, Displays.

Pleas help!
