apple IDs and passwords
I have inadvertantly acquired two IDs for the same new ipad2 used by my wife and myself. Apple seems to think that we have two ipads. How do I cancel one of the IDs?
You cannot cancel or delete an Apple ID. You can quit using it however. Bear in mind, if you already bought apps with both ID's, then you have to update the apps with those same ID's. So if you bought apps with your wife's ID, you will still need that ID in the future in order to update those apps. Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them.
If you haven't bought anything with that ID, just quit using it and remove your credit card information from that ID and just move on since you can't delete or remove an Apple ID.
You can sign in and out of your accounts in Settings>Store>Apple ID. So sign out of your wife's account if that one is showing in there and sign in with your ID.

Don't know why 'am him slumped two years' is supposed to mean, but if you've forgotten your id try : If you forgot your Apple ID - Apple Support ?
If you can find it, to then reset its password : https://iforgot.apple.com
If you still can't find/remember your id, and if the device is on the activation screen and if you were the original purchaser of the it (i.e. it wasn’t bought used), you could try going to an Apple Store (make a Genius Bar appointment if you do) or try contacting iTunes Support online (https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html) and see if they can remove the device from the account - they are likely to want to see proof of ownership before they might help e.g. original receipt with the serial number on it
