Time machine or iCloud for backup

I am considering getting a Time Capsule to backup data although I currently store everything on iCloud.

I have MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone and all seem to backup to iCloud. My MacBook recently failed and I purchased a replacement which seems to have downloaded all of my necessary data from iCloud.

Is there any need to purchase a Time Capsule when everything I need looks to be on iCloud. Is a Time Capsule and unnecessary expense or is there some significant benefit in Time Capsule over iCloud storage?
