internal microphone is not working

I am using a 2017 iMac with OS Sierra 10.12.6. My internal microphone is not working and I think it has never worked as I thought I had a problem with Skype. Any ideas?

However on your issue the first thing I would try is a PRAM reset. Instructions for that are in iMac SMC and PRAM reset .
