Contacts deleting data fields

My Apple Contacts app on iMac (10.13.1 Beta — 17B35a) is deleting key field information in a personal contact when I go in and make an edit. Example: I click on "Edit" in a contact and add an address or phone number. When I select "Done," that information doesn't appear in the contact. Even worse, it sometimes deletes all the contact information except for the name. That is, email, phone, whatever—gone. And as users understand, once it is gone, it is "GONE." Can't be retrieved.

Backgrounder: this is occurring in an Exchange Account, and I don't keep any contact info in icloud. That stated, I have been using Apple Contacts for over a decade with the same Exchange Account with no real issues (other than the occasional "swapping" information between contacts that happens for some reason, which is particularly annoying).

I was on Apple Help Desk yesterday, and the best they could do was say, "This is a third-party issue and you need to contact Microsoft." Thanks. A lot. The problem is: I don't see this as an Exchange issue: this is a Contacts issue. It is the Contacts database that is corrupting the data somehow, not the other way around.

Unless this is fixed, I'll have to stop using Contacts and just use Outlook 2016 for contact information. The technicians advise, of course, was to just use Apple Mail and Apple clients. Yeah. Reasonable choice in the business world (sarc.). We can't use Apple everything because much of Apple app work is brutal. Apple Mail is one of the worst mailing applications available with zero improvements and limited capacity. And still, I find emails "disappear" in Mail, just like contacts "disappear" in Contacts. Something is inherently wrong with the Apple software, which is why most of us use Outlook.
