AirDrop has never worked

I have an iPhone 7 Plus and a late 2015 iMac 27” and I have never been able to use AirDrop. I’ve tried the troubleshooting tips given on the internet to include setting iOS and High Sierra set to “everyone”, Bluetooth and WiFi is turned on and set correctly and signed into iCloud on both devices. 

I’ve basically given up on this feature but I have a slight tinge on wanting it to finally work but I don’t have a clue how to fix this. Can anyone help?
