WHy does my iPAD lose power so fast

Why does my 2017 iPad lose power so fast after an upgrade to iOS 11? While using the iPAD unplugged with a 100% charge, it will lose power to 2% in about 10 minutes rather than the 8 to 10 hrs it used to.
