how to access my icloud photos

I can't believe how difficult it is to find info on downloading photos from the cloud? Any help here???

If you have iCloud Photo Library turned on in your Mac, the iCloud photos should automatically sync to and from iCloud. If you don't have it turned on in your Mac (but do have it turned on in some other device so that there are photos in iCloud Photo Library) you can use an internet browser (e.g., Safari) on your Mac and log in to www.icloud.com, go to the Photos app there and select and download.
