Trackpad on MacBook Pro malfunction fixed!

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro, and a few days ago my cursor started acting erratically (jumping around and not responding appropriately), my screen kept magnifying spontaneously, along with scrolling issues, flipping between pages - it acted possessed!!  Apple customer support suggested trying a mouse.  It worked perfectly!  At this point, I was thinking that I'd need to either use the mouse, by an external trackpad - or a new computer!  I discovered a video of someone taking apart their Mac to clean the touchpad...not something I would do!  He used a toothbrush, so I had an idea...maybe some tiny crumbs/particles got around the trackpad and they were causing some issues...with nothing to lose, I used a dry toothbrush and went around the trackpad, allowing a few bristles to slip down the crack.  I couldn't believe it...but my cursor and all the trackpad issues were corrected!!  Now do I remember getting any crumbs on my trackpad recently?  I'd have to admit that I have eaten near it, and I have had to wipe a few stray crumbs.  I hope this helps someone else!
