iTunes says my debit card is incorrect when I t...

My account will not add my credit/debit card. I typed exactly what is on my debit card and it tells me the card doesn't match the payment selected and that it's an invalid number.

Which is it, a credit card or a debit card ? If it's a debit card it less likely to work, not all debit cards seem to still be accepted by iTunes, and they might not be accepted at all in some countries.

 

For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you are (and therefore the country which is on your iTunes account).

And how do users can know/check that the card is not valid for appstore? I'm still trying to change my billing info and country, but the system says it's impossible. I've moved to another country and not all my purchases are blocked, because my previous card is expired now and I have no chance to add my current one. I have only several days left for paying for iCloud otherwise, some of my data will be removed. What I should do in that case?

Only by trying to add the card to the account. Obviously cards issued by a different country's bank won't work, nor will prepaid cards.

I got the same issue.

Ensure that you are in the good country. In Itunes, in your account, click on change country. He will ask you about your debit card information. Going throw that way it worked for me and I just made my first payment in success with this account.
