Upgrading a Macbook 2008

Hi  

I new to this community...

Little history my first computer was a mac back in 1997...

Since then I've been in love with Apple! I've expressed my love for Apple by purchasing a IPhone ever since the IPhone 3GS...

I've always admired the macbook but it wasn't in my budget to buy one. I'm a little more stable and a love to customize things to my liking. So I bought a used late 2008 MacBook. And with 2gb of ram this thing runs beautiful! Better than my HP laptop with 6 gbs of  ram...

So my question is...

What can I do to make this laptop more AWESOME than it already is? Ram? Hard Drive? Video Card??? 

...and also I'm a student does anyone know any good Word Processor that's not Office 360 or Google Docs?
