iPad air 2 screen retention and other weird dis...

I'm about to bring my iPad into a repair store tomorrow but I thought I'd check to see if anyone knew whats happening here. 

I bought my device at an authorised Apple retailer just before Christmas in 2014, and have been using it for school, movies, games, etc. But as of yesterday at not even 3 years of age the screen started randomly retaining (or ghosting, Apple calls it image persistence on Mac's, there seems to be no real name for my case). Blacks, or more like dark shadows also seem to be distorted in some places as well. It's not something wrong with the software because screen shots don't show the problem. This all started last night when I was playing a bit of clash of clans and when I pressed the home button the game was still shadowed on my home screen. From there on it just kept getting worse, the splotchiness in shadows started showing up and any screen that I left still for 10 seconds would retain slightly around the edges, and anything I left much longer then that would retain across the whole screen pretty heavily. It got to the point where it was hard to see anything because of all the layers of retention that had formed while trying to figure out was going on. So in attempt to fix it I left a screen retention fixer or whatever from YouTube on overnight. It was successful in clearing up my screen but as soon as I left YouTube it retained my home screen. 

I haven't even had this iPad for 3 years, I have friends with pre-owned 6 year old iPad 2s that still work like the day they were bought, but now my considerably more expensive iPad air 2 is screwed. Not happy. But stuff happens, if anyones got any suggestions on what to do other then take it in to the store, let me know.
