iTunes 12.7 import CD adding garbage to beginni...

Ever since updating to iTunes 12.7.0.166 when I import a CD it will add some "garbage" to the beginning of tracks. It is a very short (but extremely annoying) blast of random noise at the beginning of every track. Lifetime user of Apple, but have never reported issues and don't know how to.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), 3.2 GHz i5, 16 GB

macOS High Sierra 10.13
