Keyboard Input Source reverts to US

When I reboot (and sometimes from wake) my 2014 iMac Retina with Yosemite reverts the keyboard to US from my choice of British. The British keyboard has to be re-added every time. Any thoughts?

Same problem here, from Portuguese keyboard to US keyboard. Apple are ignoring us. I am positively furious about this.

Yes I agree, incredibly bad to simply not reply at all! Very very disappointing ! Maybe someone out there will 'hear' U.S.??

SSadly 10.10.3 does not fix this either :-(

They mentioned something about keyboard problems in the release notes but sadly I still have the same problem.

They did! But yes it made no difference for me.... It is sad that we do not get even an acknowledgement from apple, very poor...

I have the same problem. I use English (UK), Greek and Norwegian on Yosemite 10.10.2 but the input source keeps switching automatically to English (US) after start up while removing the other 2 languages from the list.

In my case I have noticed that the problem occurs when I have browsing tabs open in Safari and tick the 'reopen windows when logging back in' option before shutting down.

Same problem here, using English language and Swedish keyboard layout. Keeps going back to US and removes Swedish from the list

One thing worked for me: 1) enable the root user; 2) log in to root and set up keyboard; 3) restart; 4) checkout keyboard in your usual user profile and if necessary (in my case it wasn't) set up keyboard correctly; 5) restart; 6) disable root user. So far (after several days) this has worked for me.

Thank you for the tip, sadly in my case it did not work, on 10.10.4 now and still this issue exists :-( Never had a single response from Apple!

I'm experiencing this problem since upgrading to Sierra (10.12.6).

I use UK English and Icelandic. Every now and then – mostly after a restart – the input source will revert to US English and UK English and Icelandic are deleted from the list.

It seems the section is saved in com.apple.HIToolbox.plist, so I tried deleting the prefs and even setting its permissions to read-only. Nevertheless it does get overwritten.

This is very annoying, so any hints would be much appreciated.
