Google Chrome messing up computer with adblocke...

I know there have been stories of Google Chrome bad on a Mac, but Safari has very few addons and Firefox is seeming outdated. GC integrates with my Gmail and my Uncle has the same laptop as me with no problems, I also had no issues using it on my old Mac.

I am using the STANDS Fair Adblock and the last time I installed Chrome I was watching videos and my computer got hot/fans running. So I uninstalled it. But then yesterday I was watching a video on the same site and it did the same thing in Safari. I noticed there was an ad being blocked that kept trying to load in the background, so I figured it must be the video site causing an issue.

I installed Chrome again today and it seemed fine. But then I went to tumblr.com/login to access my blog and before I could even log in, cold air began coming out of the fan.

Maybe it's the adblock? It seems to be the best one to remove malware ads and trackers but should I try uBlock Origin instead? The uBlock did not work on my Safari. Adblock/Adblock Plus have turned to Garbage. Some of the other ones in the Chrome store look like Malware. I tried the Brave Browser to block ads but it did not block them.

Any advice? Just please don't tell me 'Safari is better' because I know, I just need some addons.

Update: Tumblr doesn't cause my fan to make noise anymore now that I switched my Chrome adblocker to uBlock Origin (which now works much better than it did on Safari) but my computer still feels a teeny bit warm at the bottom. It's not overheated the way my old Pro used to get where your lap is on fire, but it's not as cool as it usually is either.
