iCloud backup greyed out

I’ve tried everything from reset system to logging in and out of iCloud on my iPhone 7 and still I have a greyed out icloud backup. The only thing I did not try was to factory reset. Has anyone out there found a solution? I’d like to see if there is something else I can try before factory resetting my phone.

Are you connected to WiFi while trying to create a backup? WiFi is required for iCloud backups and CANNOT be performed over cellular data.
