Ads when browsing

i get the same Amazon pop up that says I have won $1000 gift card when I go in to several news stories on yahoo news. I must get totally out of the internet to get it off the screen and then it returns every time I want to read the news. How can I get rid of this

Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.

Other possibilities are that Yahoo! News has simply partnered with an ad server that displays these kinds of ads, in which case it would be normal behavior. This would be more likely if you only see these on the Yahoo! News site. Or possibly, your router was hacked. If that were the case, you'd likely see ads across many sites, and when you go out somewhere and connect to a different Wi-Fi network, then you don't see such a high magnitude of ads.
