What is up iTunes U?

I have downloaded a course from iTunes U onto my MacBook. It does not appear to sync to my iPad. I downloaded two of the episodes (supposedly) onto my iPad. The episodes should have gone into a folder according to support. I cannot find any folder or any indication that the episodes are actually on my iPad. Where can I find the downloaded iTunes U content on my iPad?

Short Answer:

What worked for me in recovering sync capability was simply opening Activity Monitor and stopping the iTunesHelper app, which seems to have unlocked the communication problem.

Alternative Checks:

On your device make a test playlist and see if you can find the videos in the source area. In iTunes create a playlist for the selected videos and try to sync by playlist (if successful these will show up in the music playlist).

Something could be corrupt in the library. You might want to delete the videos from your iTunes Library (keep the files) and then re-add to your library.
